A full life!
Every activity held the potential for adventure. Every trip promised a discovery. Every stranger might become a friend. Every event held fun if you paid attention.
He is missed.
Friends to Everyone
Some he had met…

The others were friends he had not yet met.
No reason to stay earthbound.

A hovercraft, bought on eBay from some guy in New York … of course. And a more conventional airplane.

Harlan will always hold a special place
In my heart. At Shields Elementary, he cried after losing someone special in his life. I sat with him amd held his hand and told him that i would be his friend forever. Harlan was always kind and had that smile that you just fell into. You will be missed
Harlan became my friend in High School. We met when we were both involved in Junior Achievement. We attended conferences together in Indiana. He was always upbeat, positive, helpful, kind and fun.
We lost touch for many years but reconnected on Facebook and through class reunions. He loved to chide me about “becoming german” as I married into a german family, which is far from my irish roots.
I’m so grateful that I got to spend some time catching up with him 3 years ago in Victoria at a class get together. Much time had passed but Harlan always made me feel valued. I took this loss hard. There is never a good time to lose good people.
we are having our 50th reunion in april. His presence will be greatly missed.
