Bio

My career success is built upon consistently applying technology to business for profit, delivering benefits for clients and creating wealth for shareholders and employees.

Currently recognized as an expert in carbon management software.  Some of my work acknowledged here.  Associated with the Greenhouse Gas Management Institute.  Rigorous carbon accounting expertise with executive level experience.  Contributed to the new supply chain carbon accounting standards.

Fascinating experience in a 3d virtual worlds company creating business with corporate clients and rapidly scaling its operations.  Watching users of 3d virtual worlds, especially executives, I was fascinated by the behaviors I observed.  This prompted  my deep research dive into the new wave of insights in neuroscience, social software and what is now called behavioral economics.

As a management consulting partner at Ernst & Young, I specialized in supply chain and enterprise systems, and advised many Fortune 500 executives and companies.  Especially gratifying was an endeavor to discover, harvest and teach leading practices for achieving business results with enterprise software, based on the firm’s portfolio of ERP implementations.

I am accomplished at large-scale, complex project & program management. I have held operational executive roles in the fields of software, mobile applications, and business process management.

I served on the boards of Robin Hood Ventures and the Pennsylvania Angel Network, and advise multiple early-stage companies.

I began my career at Setpoint, a firm providing process control technology, software and implementation services.  After rapidly climbing the technical ladder, I shifted to business development, starting the company’s licensing activities and setting up initial overseas operations.  I implemented the company’s international strategy, leading acquisitions and startup activities to establish Netherlands and U.K. operations.  Residing in Europe for 4 years, I served as president of Setpoint Europe.

I have published many articles and am a contributing author to CIO Wisdom II – More Best Practices (Prentice Hall, 2006).  I am a frequent invited speaker on technology and IT trends and often serve on review panels at leading universities.  I co-founded the Philadelphia Future Salon, a monthly discussion on trends and innovations in science, technology, business, and society.

I earned an electrical engineering degree from Stanford University and completed The Management Program at Rice University’s graduate school of business.

I am a licensed Professional Engineer and co-inventor on multiple patent applications.

And that’s just the beginning…
